It Was A Nice Day For A White Wedding!
What a great way to start 2012! We were thrilled to be invited to photograph Sol and Colleen’s winter wedding in Edmonton. From Icon Studio Salon and the Fairmont Hotel, to The Windspear Music Center and finally off to the Windermere Golf Club for the Reception, every venue was a treat for the eyes and of course, for our cameras!
Everything about this wedding was upbeat and fun, a day filled with laughter and celebration from early in the morning, to late into the evening. Im sure Sol and Colleen’s marriage will be filled with as much fun and joy as their wedding day was! A big congratulations, to Mr. and Mrs. Ronaghan!
Enjoy a small sample of photos from their wedding day!
Playing Dress Up!
There is not a whole lot that I enjoy more than throwing some of my dress up items into a vintage suitcase, packing up my camera, going for a visit and letting kids play dress up for the camera. Two of my favorite little models are my stunning niece, Maya and her mischievous little brother Matthew. The dress up day we had planned was an even bigger treat than usual as Addie and her baby brother Camden came to play as well. The girls took turns in the petti-romper and petti- skirt, while Matthew donned the magician’s wear, complete with top hat, long eared rabbit and yellow duck shoes.
Baby Camden was quite happy modeling his own heart breaker outfit until I added a moustache to jazz him up a bit. Then it was game over…. he was NOT impressed.
All in all, such a fun time had by all with some fantastically unique images to commemorate the day …. cant wait for more dress up days to come.
How Sweet It Is….
Andrea and Kelven were engaged for roughly a total of two months before their wedding, which took place on November 26th 2011! Who knew you could plan a wedding in such record time?
We shot their last minute engagement photos in mid October, and counted our luck that the warm fall weather held out for so long.
The theme of the wedding was peacock feathers, which provided a stunning contrast for the out of doors formals. Despite a slight mishap, involving the Maid of Honor locking her keys inside her running vehicle along with the bridesmaid bouquets, extra sets of warm foot wear and her own shawl, we still made a run of getting the winter wedding photos Andrea had envisioned for her special day. While temperatures hovered just above freezing, every so often we were blasted with a gust of wind that was so cold you could barely catch your breath! What a group of troopers, especially the lovely bride who teetered through the snow drifts in her white stiletto heels! The results were worth it as you can see below I have attached a small sample of their engagement and wedding photos.
Congratulations again to Mr. and Mrs. Hall, we wish you a lifetime of warm weather.
2012 Wedding Disc Packaging!
Well its a new year and for us that means the countdown is on. Before we know it we will be photographing our 2012 bridal couple’s very special days! This year we are rolling out some new product packaging to celebrate. KAS Images wedding couples will now receive their disc of wedding photos and DVD slide-show in a custom, double disc, photo wrapped case with magnetic closure. Our first wedding up for 2012 is Sol Ronaghan and Colleen Bailey on January 21st 2012 in Edmonton.
Below is an example of our new custom disc packaging. We photographed Kelvin and Andrea’s wedding in late November of 2011 so it was perfect timing to do a test run of the new 2012 CD/DVD cases! Stay tuned for a blog post including some of their beautiful winter wedding photos coming in the next week.
You make me smile with my heart
Believe it or not, these photos were taken in Fish Creek Park when visiting in Calgary over the Christmas break. How lovely to bring in the last week of 2011 with unseasonably warm weather! It was balmy ten degrees and warm enough to stroll with our coats over our arms. PJ and Kylie and their dog, Harley were in town visting from Langley, BC, so we took advantage of our time together and headed off for a jaunty bit of photo-taking. Enjoy a small selection of photos from the day!
The Malysh Wedding
Going back to September we were blessed to be invited to photograph Desarie and Daniel’s big day, below I have included a gallery of just a handful of their photos! They were married at the Bethel Church, followed by photos at first Legasse Park and then their farm. Watching Daniel’s reaction to seeing Desarie walk down the aisle was incredible. I have to say that might be my favorite moment of every wedding we photograph- the bride and groom’s reaction when they first see one another. Des had big dreams of having some photos taken with her horses who had other ideas once they saw her coming in her big, beautiful dress…. they took one look and raced off, kicking, prancing and snorting! Following the photos it was off to Stry Hall ( love that venue) for the reception! Congratulations to the amazing couple! I know your marriage will be filled with as much love and laughter as your wedding day! Below are a few sample photos of their big day!
Introducing baby Autumn
Once again Im jumping back in time to the Thanksgiving long weekend in order to share a few photos of the Labine family.
We were blessed to be invited to photograph brand new baby Autumn Elizabeth who was only a handful of days old. Welcome to the big world sweetheart and a big congratulations once again to the new mommy and daddy!

Maliyah and Evangeline can JUMP!
Going back to October here, but these were too cute not to post in the blog. Over the Thanksgiving long weekend I had the pleasure of once again photographing Maliyah and Evangeline. They had a ton of energy to burn and it was all their mother and I could do to keep up with them….. directing some of that energy into our photoshoot left us with a ton of fun action shots. When you are little, sometimes it is just too hard to sit still!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
Griffin’s one year birthday shoot was a smashing success!!!! It was so special for me to be photographing him for his first birthday as around this time last year I had photographed him as a newborn.
His mom made this beautiful cake for him, and we couldn’t help but giggle as his initial response was to delicately pick off smarties one by one, such a polite little gentleman!
It wasn’t long before he was digging in and the cake was demolished.
Happy birthday little guy, we are all so thrilled to celebrate with you!
