Maliyah and Evangeline can JUMP!
Going back to October here, but these were too cute not to post in the blog. Over the Thanksgiving long weekend I had the pleasure of once again photographing Maliyah and Evangeline. They had a ton of energy to burn and it was all their mother and I could do to keep up with them….. directing some of that energy into our photoshoot left us with a ton of fun action shots. When you are little, sometimes it is just too hard to sit still!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
Griffin’s one year birthday shoot was a smashing success!!!! It was so special for me to be photographing him for his first birthday as around this time last year I had photographed him as a newborn.
His mom made this beautiful cake for him, and we couldn’t help but giggle as his initial response was to delicately pick off smarties one by one, such a polite little gentleman!
It wasn’t long before he was digging in and the cake was demolished.
Happy birthday little guy, we are all so thrilled to celebrate with you!
Thank Heavens, For Little Girls!
Oh the sweetness is enough to give you a toothache!
We have recently been blessed with the opportunity to photograph three precious baby girls, Maycee, Brielle and Meira!
HUGE congratulations to Matt and Miranda, Sarah and Ricky as well as Manny and Sarah on the new and pretty in pink additions to their families!
Everything’s Coming Up Babies!
In the last handful of weeks we have been blessed to photograph not one, not two, but three- brand new baby boys!
I thought long and hard about spacing out separate blog entries for them as I wouldn’t want anyone to fall a victim of cuteness overload, but in the end I decided that a viewer’s advisory should be sufficient!
The first baby is Amber and Dave’s little boy, Jagger! He is a February baby who was born weighing 9.5 lbs with a full head of blonde hair!
The second baby is Toni and Justin’s little boy, John! He was born in March although he was almost a month early so he is just teeny tiny.
He had some pictures taken with his Grandma as well, who jokes that she is a “Stalker Nanny”!
Last but not least is Rob and Kristy’s boy, Camden who was also born in March and has a big sister named Addi. Addi continued to tell people after he was born that she had a new sister named Shauna- I’m sure Camden will love that story when he is older! He is one bad little dude as you will see, he is already working on balancing on a skateboard!
I had such a great time with each and every one of these shoots and of course couldn’t be happier with the results.
Big thanks to the mommies and daddies!
Just Tea For Two and Two For Tea…
Me and you and you and me…….
Well in this case we had three for tea, but the song still sticks once you get it in your head! Anyone who knows me, knows that I am constantly coming up with ideas for fun, artistic, keepsake type of photos, especially involving little kiddies.
Rather than run of the mill, yearly school portraits where you are taking down the one from the year before to replace it with the current year’s, these kind of shoots are pieces of art in themselves and will never look outdated on your walls.
The tea party vision has been manifesting itself for over a year now, and I have slowly been building upon it, while collecting the necessary items in order to see it become a reality!
It can easily be arranged to suit a single child, or a group of children…. the possibilities are endless.
Great for:
Your own child/children
Memorialize the relationship between a couple of little, “best friends”
Cousin’s, or Grandkids etc, etc!
Best of all, the kids love it, as they get to have a ‘real’ tea party. We set up the table, fill the tea pot with apple juice, the table with treats and then dive into the dress up clothes. They get to let loose and have fun and we end up with great, natural, candid types of shots.
The following photos are from a top secret shoot done this past weekend, in preparation for Mother’s Day. The three kiddos at the table are cousins, and the resulting photos were used to create a large stretched canvas, as well as a photo-book that included all the shots from the day. This will be their Grandma’s Mother’s day gift this year, and I know her reaction will be priceless! I would normally be weary about posting anything top-secret before the secret is actually out, but we know Grandma has a dial up internet connection and the chances of her stumbling across the blog photos are almost non-existent!
Enjoy
Boudoir Bachlorette
Time to update the blog!
I know I have fallen behind in keeping the KAS blog up to date, but I also know that it is unhealthy to dwell on the past. Therefore, it would be unhealthy for me to drag myself over coals for not writing sooner and/or try and explain all the reasons why I have been so remiss in my blogging duties. What fun would that be anyhow?
I have decided that I should dazzle you all with the marvelousness of Madeliene’s Stagette/ Boudoir Photo Party, which took place just in time for all the gal’s to have their photos in hand for Valentine’s day!
It was a whirl wind of a weekend, I arrived at the bride to be’s hotel room early on Friday evening. I’m pretty sure we photographed steadily until about half past midnight, all the while keeping in mind we had to be up again bright and early for Madeliene and Andy’s mid-morning wedding the following day.
It was a full house with so many ladies piled into the one room! As I started setting up, they paraded around in their next to nothings, chatting and complimenting one another. I couldn’t help but think I was living the kind of evening that men’s dreams are made from.
We were pretty limited as to space, but we certainly made do! There was a ton of amazing food to keep me busy during the short spells of down time here and there. I am not ashamed for an instant that I visited the chocolate fountain, and fruit tray on as many occasions as I was able.
Ahhhhh….. now all I can think of is chocolate strawberries.
Without further ado, please enjoy a sample of the sassy beauties that graced me with their photographic gorgeousness, while I head upstairs to open a fresh container of strawberries that I just so happen to have in my fridge!
CESLEY AND WALTER ARE HAVING A BABY!
As you can see from the lovely pictures below of Cesley’s tummy, there is a little one on the way.
What you wouldn’t guess from the pictures, is that she is only a few weeks away from delivering!
Cesley is one of those lucky women, who is all baby! When I mentioned as much to her, she was quick to inform me that her feet were too swollen to fit into regular shoes, and she wasn’t overly happy about her slip on shoes.
As she has swollen feet, I think we ladies must forgive her for her extraordinary genetic luck in the middle section!
This shoot was a ton of maternity photo fun! We marched across bridges and through tall grass, convinced Cesley she must lay down on the wooden walk and then strolled across the park to the playground to hop on the swings.
To wrap it up, it was a great shoot, great day, with great clients and great results!
Cant wait to see the little guy the next time we meet!
Deck the Halls With Boughs of Holly!
FA LA LA LA LA, LA LA LA LA……. I think I have the right amount of LA’s there! With sugarplums dancing right around the corner, and chestnuts getting ready to roast, we at KAS Images are getting into the holiday spirit!

Fun in the City!
Madeliene and I go back about 8 years, however we probably hadn’t seen each other in about 6!
I was honored when she asked if we could come and do an engagement session for them, and excited beyond belief to see her again!
I couldn’t help but notice the wave of panic washing over poor Scott and Andy’s faces when Madeliene opened her apartment door and we exploded into a flurry of excited chattering, crying and hugging.
The mood was super casual, the weather was beautiful! We went strolling along Whtye Ave, stopping whenever we found a spot that looked like fun.
Scott later mentioned to me how difficult it can be to take photos when one photographer and one half of the engaged couple never stop chattering at each other …. oops!
Despite all the visiting, the photos turned out amazing! So happy for Madeliene and Andy, cant wait for their wedding!
